Yoga Therapy Module #1 - Iyengar Insights to Spine Rejuvenation

This first out of four Iyengar therapeutics modules offered through the Institute of Interdisciplinary Yoga Studies (IIYS) for advanced teachers during the 2016-2017 school year. We will review structure and function of the spine, and explore common dysfunctions and injuries. All participants will learn how to use the Iyengar wall (The Great Yoga Wall) as a therapeutic tool, as well as adjustments with props that can be used during a private session without the wall and in a classroom situation. You will learn how to assess movement and develop a therapeutic plan for clients, students and in the classroom.

  • Admission into IIYS Yoga Teacher Training Advanced Certificates (300 or 500) or
  • A returning graduate from the IIYS from any year.
  • Completion of a Ray Long, MD Bandha Yoga Anatomy Workshop in the last 3 years.
