Making your own mosquito repellent with essential oils

My mosquito repellent recipe!

Ingredients:

2 Tbs. each:  vodka, distilled water and jojoba oil or avocado oil (organic)
25-35 drops essential oils

Sample Essential Oil Blend
15 drops lemon eucalyptus (reported to be a good natural substitution for DEET in repelling insects, but is not recommended for use on children under 3 yrs.)
20 drops lavender (I use this one...click here)
10 drops peppermint ( I use this one... click here)
10 drops rosemary ( I use this one...click here)

If you need to purchase many essential oils and find the price of Young Living oils beyond your reach, I highly recommend Plant Guru Variety set that will meet most of your needs.

Other Bug-Repelling Essential Oils:
citronella
eucalyptus (strong)
tea tree
cypress
rose geranium
bergamot
lemon
cinnamon and  Thieves Oil (my personal favorite)

Directions:
1. Combine vodka, water and oil of choice in a 4 oz spray bottle (my favorite here).
2. Mix in essential oils. Shake thoroughly.
3. Rub or spray the natural insect repellent onto skin or clothing, using care to avoid the
sensitive eye area.

* Re-apply after about an hour or after swimming or exercise. Unused natural insect repellent may be stored in a dark bottle, away from heat or sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Do not swallow. Not for use for children under 3 years old.
