I am Renee DeTar and the creator of The Institute of Interdisciplinary Yoga Studies (IIYS), a registered teacher training program with the United States Yoga Alliance at both the 200- and 500-hour levels. It is the manifestation of many years of teaching and studying yoga along with other healing modalities. Owning and managing large yoga studios offering a variety of yoga styles, as well as working with fit elite athletes, students suffering from severe accident injuries, mothers and mommies-in-waiting, and those experiencing the aches and pains of the body from aging and disease, have given me a unique perspective in the yoga teacher training field.
